06.06.2025 NORTHERN PROVINCE PERMANENT SECRETARY COMMISSIONS CDF PROJECTS AND DISBURSES 2024 LOANS AND GRANTS IN NSAMA DISTRICT.

Northern Province Permanent Secretary, Mr. Bernard Mpundu, on Friday, 6th June 2025, officially commissioned three Constituency Development Fund (CDF) projects and presided over the disbursement of the 2024 CDF loans and grants in Nsama District.
The commissioned projects include the Mini Mortuary at Nsama Rural Health Centre, the newly constructed Kampinda Police Post, and a 1×3 Classroom Block at Mupundu Primary School. These projects are part of the government’s broader effort to improve service delivery and infrastructure development at the grassroots level, in line with the decentralization policy and the vision of His Excellency President Hakainde Hichilema.
Speaking during the event, Mr. Mpundu applauded the Nsama Town Council and all stakeholders for their role in successfully implementing the projects and supporting community development. He stated that the projects represent tangible results of the increased CDF allocation under the New Dawn Government, which is aimed at empowering communities and improving livelihoods.
“What we are witnessing here today is not just infrastructure development. These are tools for transformation. Through the CDF, we are building health, education, and security systems that work for the people. We are also injecting capital into our communities by empowering citizens with loans and grants,” Mr. Mpundu said.
The Permanent Secretary emphasized that the government remains committed to ensuring equitable development across all districts, with a focus on empowering rural areas through decentralization, infrastructure, and access to financing. He further encouraged CDF loan and grant beneficiaries to use the funds productively and become agents of economic growth in the district.
The event was attended by the Nsama District Commissioner, the Council Secretary, traditional leaders, civil servants, and members of the community who welcomed the developments as a sign of meaningful progress.
The commissioning of the projects and disbursement of funds reflect the government’s ongoing effort to bring development closer to the people, promote local participation, and ensure no one is left behind.
