Repair works on the damaged bridge connecting Mulenga and Chilulu in Nsama District to Mporokoso have officially commenced, with the Road Development Agency (RDA) workforce already on site to begin the rehabilitation process.
The development follows an assurance by Northern Province Permanent Secretary, Mr. Bernard Mpundu, during his recent visit to the site that the government would move swiftly to restore the bridge within four to seven days.
The RDA team, working in collaboration with the Zambia National Service (ZNS) and Nsama Town Council, has mobilized equipment and materials to ensure timely completion of the project.
The damaged bridge has been a major challenge for residents, affecting the transportation of goods and access to essential services.
Once completed, the bridge will significantly enhance connectivity between Nsama and Mporokoso as well as surrounding communities, supporting trade, agriculture, and access to social services across Nsama District.
